Immigrant Quickly Climbs 4 Storeys To Save Child Hanging Off Balcony, Made Honorary Citizen For His Brave Deed

Mamoudou Gassama had always dreamed of living in Paris, so he packed his bags and left behind his home in Mali in the hopes of pursuing a better life. Six months after his arrival, he became a hero in France and has met with the president for doing something absolutely incredible.

The 22-year-old was walking home one Saturday afternoon from the Gare du Nord railway station when he noticed a group of people gathered below a tall apartment building.
Four storeys above, a small child was hanging over the railing of an apartment balcony, barely able to hold on.
Mamoudou jumped into action without hesitation. The young man immediately started to scale the side of the building, quickly climbing up each balcony siding to try and reach the boy. People in the neighboring apartment were also attempting to rescue the boy, but he was just out of reach.
Similar to Spiderman, Mamoudou effortlessly lifted himself to where the boy was still barely holding on. He managed to pull himself over the balcony, and quickly grabbed the boy by his arm and pulled him over the railing to safety.

This good deed has definitely not gone unnoticed, and Mamoudou is now considered a public hero in France. After his heroism went viral, the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, posted her gratitude on her Twitter account.
“Congratulations to Mamoudou Gassama for his brave act that helped save a child’s life last night. I had the pleasure to talk with him today by phone to thank him warmly,” the tweet reads.
But the biggest honor of all came from France’s President, Emmanuel Macron, who personally wanted to meet Mamoudou and thank him for his heroic act.
As a thank you for his bravery, President Macron granted him immediate citizenship and personally welcomed him to the country. That’s one thank you gift that can’t be topped!
