Husband Surprises His Wife With Long-Lost Footage Of Their Wedding For Special 14th Anniversary

Aug 13, 2021

Getting married is a monumental occasion for couples as they are able to celebrate their love for one another and move forward with the next chapter of their lives together. From the wedding dress to the flowers to the guest list, a lot goes into planning and celebrating this happy day. The big day is full of excitement, laughter and love, and is something most couples deeply cherish and hope to hold onto forever with their own memorabilia, including personalized trinkets, photographs and videos footage.

After getting married on July 20, 2007, Drew and Kayla Gottfried went on to live a beautiful life with one another. The happy couple currently has two children and is enjoying their life together in Oregon. While their wedding was a spectacular day full of love, happiness and wonderful memories, they sadly had lost a very important piece to commemorate their special day.

They had a family friend record their ceremony and reception but found that the tape was blank when they went to get it converted into a DVD after their honeymoon. The couple was devastated, but let the past be the past, and moved forward with their amazing life together. After 14 long years of not seeing any video footage celebrating the day they vowed to be together forever, the couple was in for an incredible surprise.

In July 2021, the Gottfried couple celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary, and it was definitely one for the books. Drew planned a romantic night for the two of them as he had something incredible to share with Kayla: their long-lost wedding video.

While they have continued to live a beautiful and happy life together following their marriage in July 2021, Kayla and Drew never forgot about their long-lost wedding video. KGW News reported that their official wedding tape had never been blank; the couple was just given the wrong one. According to Fox News, it had been left in a box at the Life Bible Church in Harrisburg, Oregon, for the past 14 years. “A different friend from the church is the one who found it and told me,” Drew explained.

In order to celebrate not only finding the lost tape but going on 14 years of marriage, Drew rented out a local movie theater and arranged for a private showing, keeping Kayla in the dark about what exactly they’d be viewing at the theater. Excitedly recording his wife, Drew captured the emotional moment Kayla saw her wedding video for the first time.

Kayla immediately burst into tears after just the first few seconds of her wedding video played on the big screen. She quickly pulled her husband into an embrace and kissed him before going back to watching their wedding video through her tear-filled eyes. “When our video popped up, I was so excited,” she said. “I just couldn’t believe it.”

Since then, Drew has shared the clip with his family, friends and even the TikTok community. The video quickly went viral on the social media platform with plenty of comments pouring in celebrating the Gottfrieds and this special moment they were able to share together after so many years. One user commented, “She just fell in love again when she realized the effort you put in.”
