Gwen Stefani Admits She Loves Blake Shelton ‘More Than Anything’ In Emotional Tribute

Jun 21, 2023

The music celebrity couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton was one pairing no one saw coming. Stefani and Shelton were prodigies in their different genres of music; they broke glass ceilings and reached towering heights in their careers.

Stefani was led into music by her musician older brother, Eric. Not only did Eric introduce her to the 2 Tone genre of music, but he also introduced her to “No Doubt,” the band where she got her musical start. In 2004, years after they achieved mainstream success, she decided to pursue a solo career with her debut album, “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” Her decision to explore a solo career paid off, as it skyrocketed her career to greater heights.

Shelton’s foray into music started in his preteen years. He started singing as a child, but his interest in music sparked after his uncle taught him to play the guitar at 12. Shelton continued to nurture his interest in music and moved to Nashville to pursue a musical career immediately after high school. Shelton got his big break when he released his self-titled debut album, “Blake Shelton,” in 2001.

Due to their successes, the celebrity couple joined “The Voice” as judges. While Shelton joined the show in 2011, Stefani joined in 2014. Although their relationship started as a friendship, the duo fell helplessly in love and got married in 2021. With their union sealed, Shelton became a stepfather to Stefani’s kids, a role he loves. On June 18, 2023, Stefani took to Instagram to celebrate her husband's birthday and Father’s Day.  Keep reading to learn more about Stefani’s tribute to her husband.

Before Stefani and Shelton became an item, they were coincidentally going through a similar patch in their romantic lives. Around the time when Shelton's divorce from Miranda Lambert was finalized, Stefani was in the process of finalizing her divorce from her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. In a 2016 interview, the country music star shared how he found out about her failed marriage.

“She didn’t tell me much, because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it,’” Shelton told Billboard.

Stefani’s first marriage was to musician Gavin Rossdale. The pair met in 1995 and nurtured their relationship for seven years until 2002 when they married in an elaborate ceremony. The marriage between the former couple lasted for 12 years until 2014, when Stefani filed for divorce from Rossdale, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce between the former couple was finalized in 2016, two years after they initiated the process. They share three children, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.

Shelton was married to Kaynette Williams from 2003 to 2006. His second marriage was to Miranda Lambert. The pair got married in 2011 but announced their divorce in 2015.

“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends, and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter,” they announced in a statement to the Associated Press.

As Cupid would have it, “The Voice” became the platform where the two divorcees Stefani and Shelton met, developed their friendship, and nurtured it into a romantic relationship that ended in marriage.

June 18, 2023, was a special one for the Stefani and Shelton household, as it was two celebrations wrapped into one. The day, which was Shelton’s birthday, coincided with the celebration of Father’s Day worldwide. To celebrate this coincidence, Stefani took to her Instagram page to pay tribute to her husband.

She posted a 15-second video that was a combination of several short clips of their memorable time spent together. A simple but sweet caption accompanied the post.

“happy bday and fathers day, @blakeshelton <3 i love u more than anything gx,” Stefani wrote.

The post garnered a lot of reactions from fans, who expressed their admiration for the couple.

“I’m crying. Thank God he’s yours for the rest of your life!” a fan wrote. “I love seeing them both happy. Gwen just glows whenever she speaks of him,” another fan gushed.

The Father’s Day/birthday post isn’t the first time Stefani has made an aww-worthy post about her "True Babe." Following his emotional exit from “The Voice” at the end of Season 23, Stefani was featured in a sendoff video, celebrating her husband's “legacy” on the show.

“Who would have thought that this Orange County girl and this country guy from Oklahoma would find each other on the set of The Voice,” she shared in the video

“When I first came on the show, our lives were having this parallel destruction happening,” she added, referring to their separate divorces that were taking place at the time. Stefani also said:

“and then next thing you know, Blake and I start becoming besties and falling in love.”

The mother of three ended her sendoff message by stating that Shelton’s legacy on “The Voice” will remain forever.
