Grieving Mother Gives True Story About What Really Happened to Toddler That Died In The Care Of Her Babysitter
Sep 26, 2018
Recently, a post from a grieving mother went viral online. This remarkable post could potentially save the lives of children throughout the world.
Sierra Greenlee went through one of the most traumatic experiences imaginable.
She is now spreading awareness about a hidden danger so that other parents do not go through the same thing.
The Worst Night of Sierra's Life
In September, Sierra finally shared her story with the world. Back in March, her daughter unexpectedly died. Arya was only three years old at the time. She loved playing with her mom and having fun.
On the day of her death, Sierra was leaving to pick up Arya from the babysitter. She planned on sleeping in late and spending the entire day with her little daughter.
Unfortunately, none of Sierra's plans would ever come true.

When Sierra arrived at the babysitter's house, Arya looked like she was passed out.
Sierra thought that Arya was just asleep, but then she felt her daughter's chest. Arya did not seem to be breathing.
Sierra rushed her daughter back into the house and started performing CPR.
The paramedics arrived in just a few minutes, but it felt like a lifetime to Sierra. As the paramedics took over, Sierra called her parents and Arya's dad. She cried as she paced in place.
It felt like Sierra was an outsider watching everything happen. She felt numb as paramedics tried to revive Arya.
Soon, she was driving behind the ambulance as Arya was rushed to the hospital.
Before long, doctors confirmed what Sierra feared the most. Her daughter was dead.
The doctors had tried everything possible, but nothing would bring Arya back to life. They led Sierra to Arya's bedside where she collapsed next to her daughter. Sierra held Arya's lifeless body close as she clung to her cold figure.
About 30 minutes later, the doctors came back to tell Sierra the cause of death. Her baby girl had died from type 1 diabetes.
Sierra could not believe it. She had just taken Arya to the doctor last month for her wellness check. Her doctor had said that Arya was perfectly healthy.
It turns out that type 1 diabetes is not commonly tested for in children.
Doctors will only conduct a test if they notice symptoms or a family member has the disease.
Parents could easily overlook the symptoms because toddlers often use the bathroom frequently and drink extra water.
Now, Sierra is urging parents everywhere to learn about type 1 diabetes. Parents need to learn about symptoms like frequent urination and excessive thirst so that they know what to look for. If a child does show symptoms, it is important for doctors to test the child for diabetes.
It is too late for Arya, but Sierra hopes that her post will help to save other parents from the same grief. Since she originally shared the story online, it has been shared more than 500,000 times. Hopefully, this post will help raise awareness and save countless lives. Help spread awareness and protect children from type 1 diabetes by telling your friends about this article.
