Four Teens Vibing To Music Bring Laughter With Dance Moves

This year has been a difficult one for a lot of people for countless reasons. Between everything that's been going on, normal life seems to have been put on pause. Yet, for so many people, high school is really just a series of mishaps. Thus, this entire year is likely par-for-the-course for the hardened sensibilities of the average high-schooler. High school is the time in our lives where we make new friends, find new talents, and make memories for a lifetime.

But high school is also about doing silly stunts for the amusement of yourself and one's friends, which is exactly what this group of four teenage boys AKA the Teen Titan Crew did with their performance from 2013 titled "The New Evolution of Dance."

For some, it is a beautiful time in our coming of age. For others, a nightmare. Regardless of your perspective, the most memorable moment for a lot of highschoolers is undoubtedly prom night. It's a late-night party filled with loud music, "stylish" attire, junk food, and mischief.

Of course, the focus of any prom is on the dancing. The night where awkward teens come together to be awkward together. Some students take the wall-flower approach, observing intently from the shadows. Yet, for others, being the center of attention is the status quo. For these four high school students in Germany, the latter description definitely applies.

This Youtube video shows the four boys, who dubbed themselves the "Teen Titan Crew" in fetching matching attire. Brown pants, white shirts, and classic suspenders complete the look. Is it hokie? A little. But you can tell they're having fun. On the wacky night of prom, coordinated outfits are not particularly rare. Thus, when the Teen Titan Crew marched into the prom scene, no one expected them to do what they did.

The video is titled "The New Evolution of Dance." Once they got started, you can tell some hours were spent on the choreography for this routine—amateur night it was not. Rather than be limited to the artistic license of one song, the boys opted for a rather diverse medley. Starting with Seal's Stand by Me, the music quickly switches to Let's Twist Again by the classically obese and gingham-clad Chubby Checker. They allow plenty of leeways for modern style to influence the classic moves.

Slowly, it becomes clear what the title means. This highly-rehearsed routine is meant to be a visual means of conveying the history of dance. As they shimmy their way into James Brown's I Feel Good, their hips twist and gyrate with the '70s beat. From the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and beyond, they have their bases covered.

Modern pop culture wasn't ignored either. From Britney to Beyonce and beyond, all the way to Oppa Gangnam Style, the beats never let up. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this is that these boys are not professionals, nor have they ever taken a dance class.

Rather, they are simply good friends who put in the effort to entertain their friends. Despite the professional polish of this routine, it was done entirely by the group in the afternoons leading up to the big night.

This video is a brilliant example of good-natured fun between friends. Although the mix was a lot of work, the attention they have gotten has been more than worth it. They originally intended this merely as a stunt to entertain their buddies. Yet, it has gone viral and the wacky four have now been seen by millions of people around the world. It's wonderful to see such good friends having a good time and giving credit to the classic songs that paved the way to our modern age.
