Fans Help Elderly Metalhead In Wheelchair Join Her First Mosh Pit
Sep 20, 2018
For those who aren't big enthusiasts of heavy metal or rock music, you might be unfamiliar with what a "mosh pit" is. A mosh pit is when concertgoers gather around the very edge of the stage and mosh, which is a type of dance that involves almost violently bouncing up and down and from side to side.
While it can look horrifying to those not familiar with it, in reality, mosh pits are usually full of happy and excited music fans, not angry or violent ones.
At a concert performed by the heavy metal band Slayer in Idaho, mosh enthusiasts proved that they don't deserve the bad reputation they get when they helped a disabled woman finally live out her mosh pit dreams. When Tina Granger took her mother-in-law to the Idaho concert, she was determined to give the older woman the time of her life. Not only was her mother-in-law a lifelong fan of heavy metal music, but it was Slayer's final tour. With a beer in hand and a smile on her face, Tina's mother-in-law was enjoying the concert from the comfort of her wheelchair.
But Tina had an idea as to how she could make the concert even more memorable.

"Everyone should experience it at least once," Tina said of the mosh pit experience. Knowing that her mother-in-law had never been in a mosh pit due to her disability, Tina asked some burly metal fans nearby if they would assist in helping her mother-in-law to join the fun by the stage. Although the men might have seemed intimidating, they turned out to be total teddy bears and were happy to assist.
"She had the best time of her life!" Tina exclaimed.
Not only did the men jump in to assist, but other metal fans quickly came to Tina and her mother-in-law's aid as well. An amazing viral video of the incident shows dozens of fans happily trailing behind Tina's mother-in-law as she's pushed to the front of the pit. She's absolutely beaming with happiness as Tina pushes her wheelchair, with a huge grin on her face as she pumps her hands in the air triumphantly, never spilling a drop of her beer.
Fans of metal and hard rock music might have the reputation of being violent and mean, but this should serve as a lesson that the type of music you like doesn't say anything about your character and your humanity. Have you ever proven a stereotype wrong? Tell us down below.
