Emma Roberts Shares Stunning Selfies Showing Off ‘Sunrise Red’ Hair With Extensions Transformation

Born on Feb. 10, 1991, in Rhinebeck, New York, Emma Roberts is an American actress whose career has captivated audiences for over two decades. Growing up in a family deeply involved in the entertainment world – her dad is actor Eric Roberts and her aunt is Julia Roberts – she was the ultimate “nepo baby,” destined for greatness from the get-go.

In 2001, she made her acting debut in the film “Blow” alongside heartthrob Johnny Depp, where she impressed audiences worldwide. Her breakout role was in Nickelodeon’s 2004 “Unfabulous,” which earned her a Young Artist Award and solidified her status as a rising star. 

Known for her remarkable versatility, Emma has shown her acting prowess in various genres, from the chilling drama of “American Horror Story” to the lighthearted charm of romantic comedies like “Wild Child.”

Emma has previously shown off some major hair transformations. She notably changed up her style in December 2020 when she was seen leaving a salon with platinum blonde hair cut in a chic, shoulder-grazing bob styled in defined waves. 

She had also lightened her amber strands at that time to achieve a beautiful blonde hue she called “dreamy buttercream.” In October 2024, Emma attended a Fashionphile event in Los Angeles, where she spoke with People magazine during a game of “Slay or Nay.” 

Just a few months prior, she had been named an ambassador for the luxury haircare company, Wella. When asked about shopping for pre-owned handbags, she enthusiastically responded with a “Slay!” 

Emma also shared that lending your friends your Chanel is a definite slay, but carrying your bag on an airplane is mostly a “nay.” “It’s a nay, but I do it all the time,” she admitted. “It’s a huge nay.”

On Feb. 2, 2025, Emma posted stunning selfies on her Instagram account tagging the masterminds behind her new strawberry red hair, Wella global ambassador Nikki Lee and co-owner of Nine Zero One Salon, Riawna Capri.

Speaking to People magazine, Lee shared details about Emma’s new look.

“I created this shade for Emma as she needed to go red for an up coming roll. The inspiration came from the last time we took her red in 2017. This time, we kept her more on the copper side,” she said.

She elaborated:

“I used Wella Illumina on her base because it’s reflective and natural looking. I then pulled Wella Color Touch through her mids and ends to balance the tone throughout, giving it richness and lots of shine.” 

Lee also said they added hair extensions.

“Riawna and I added in Great Lengths hair extensions for volume and length. Riawna cut her ends with wispy layers,” she said, adding, “We love this look on Emma – it’s giving a very modern take on Julia Roberts hair in the ’90s.”

In the two photos posted with the caption “🌅 SUNRISE RED 🌅,” Emma unveiled her beautiful new hairstyle. The first featured her in a black long-sleeve top and minimal makeup, confidently looking into the camera as her vibrant red hair, styled in loose waves, parted dramatically to the side. 

The second photo captured a more playful moment, with Emma smiling blissfully, eyes closed, and delicately holding her hair back. The transformation sparked a wave of admiration, including a comment from fellow redhead actress Madelaine Petsch, who gushed over the new locks:

“Um, you look so good omg 🧡.” 

Wella Hair joined the celebration, sharing the transformation with the caption:
