After spending years with a family, it can be disheartening when the family abandons you. Even when taken to a shelter, there is a chance of becoming desolate as the conditions at the shelter are most likely different from the conditions in your previous home. Just like humans, animals can suffer stress due to changes in the environment. Their health may take a big hit as they transition from a household full of love to a shelter with less attention. Companionship Even in Abandonment
When their owners left the aging dogs at the Carson High Kill Shelter, Bella and Snowball only had each other. Snowball was especially dependent on Bella as the little dog is completely blind. He has always relied on Bella as a companion all his life. Although they were abandoned, it was good that the two dogs remained together.
Gloom and Doom before Hope
In the viral video about the two dogs, both Bella and Snowball seem sad and dejected while at the shelter. While the conditions are not deplorable, there is a level of love missing from the dogs’ lives. They look defeated and hopeless. It is as though they are resigned to the depressing fate. However, that changes when they are rescued from the shelter.
From their sorry dejected state, the mood of the two dogs lights up as they leave the shelter. In particular, Bella is very excited. As she walks outside, she keeps pacing with excitement. You can tell she had missed the attention and freedom she was getting!
From Shelter to Rescue Home and Finally into Foster Care!
From the shelter, the dogs went to the Big Bones Rescue in Windsor, Colorado where they were given better treatment. From a hopeless gloomy state, the future of the two dogs now looked promising. They would no longer have to endure loneliness in the shelter. Instead, they would be in the company of loving people. The fate they were initially resigned to was now in the past. Even blind Snowball felt the changes and got excited about it.
The two dogs faced uncertainty at the shelter. However, thanks to the rescuers, they found a new home where they would spend the rest of their life. Hopefully, they go on to enjoy their remaining days in the company of people that love and care for them.
