Demi Moore Posts Throwback Photos Of Rumer Willis Giving Birth As She Looks Back To Becoming A Grandmother

Demi Moore is an icon in her own right, and after celebrating her milestone 60th birthday in November 2022, she’s defying cultural norms and feminine expectations with a new swimwear line honoring health and beauty at any age.

Moore rose to fame in the 1980s. According to Biography.com, Moore hit the big time in 1985 when she portrayed “Jules” in “St. Elmo’s Fire.” Moore became a core member of the “Brat Pack.” According to Insider, the term “Brat Pack” was coined by New York Magazine journalist David Blum to describe Hollywood’s rising young movie stars. Alongside Moore, the Brat Pack consisted of Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy.

Moore made her leading lady debut in “Ghost,” where she starred alongside Patrick Swayze. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination. GoldDerby ranked “Ghost” as one of Moore’s most outstanding performances, while her roles in “A Few Good Men” and “About Last Night” were ranked second and third.

Moore has been married three times, first to Freddy Moore, then to fellow superstar actor Bruce Willis and lastly Ashton Kutcher. These days, you’re most likely to find her chilling at her Idaho home with her family. Now, the star is set to take on a new and exciting role in life – being a grandmother to Rumer Willis’ daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. But aside from that, Moore also cherishes her firstborn Rumer. In celebration of Rumer’s 35th birthday, her mother posted a carousel of throwback photos of them together up to her most recent ones. It’s safe to say Moore knows the importance of family and friendships more than anyone after all the ups and downs she went through over her life. Now at 60 years of age, she enjoys a good relationship with all her daughters, her ex-husband Willis, his wife Emma Heming and their children Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8. 

Despite their split, Willis and Moore continued to co-parent their daughters to stunning effect. In an interview with Larry King, Rumer said, “I never had to split up vacations or split up birthdays.” She went on to say they always did events as a family unit. “They always made an effort to do all of the family events still together and made such an effort to still have our family be as one unit, as opposed to two separate things, which I think really made an impact.”

Rumer’s pregnancy fulfilled her lifelong desire to be a mom. During an appearance on the “Bathroom Chronicles” podcast in February 2023, she revealed that being a mom was something she always wanted.

“It’s like one of those weird things that I know sometimes people have such clarity about, like ‘Oh, I want to be a musician, I want this,’ and it was never a question for me that I wanted to be a mom,” she said. 

Rumer announced on Instagram on April 18, 2023, that she had welcomed her and Thomas’ first child, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. 

"✨ Louetta Isley Thomas Willis ✨ You are pure magic 🌱," Rumer captioned the post. “Born at home on Tuesday, Apr. 18. You are more than we ever dreamed of ✨.”

Rumer celebrated her 35th birthday on Aug. 16, 2023. On her birthday, she received greetings from her loved ones. One was from her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas. 

“Rue, I love you ❤️ I’m grateful for you in my life, I hope you have a wonderful birthday, it is my joy to celebrate you today. I’m so glad you were born and came into my life. I’ll never be the same, thank you for making me a father and helping me grow as a human. You are kind, thoughtful, sexy and wise. Can’t wait for what the future brings, Happy Birthday!!!🙏 😘💝🎂🎊,” he said to her. 

On the other hand, her mother, Moore, celebrated it with a nostalgic Instagram greeting. 

“My life changed the day you were born. You brought a depth, meaning, and purpose to my existence along with an understanding of love that I had never known. Now here you are my baby, with your own baby, bringing even greater meaning, magic, and love into all of our lives,” Moore said. 

She posted photos of them during Rumer’s younger birthdays, a studio photo of them together, a photo while Rumer was giving birth at home, and their first photo together while cradling little Louetta. 

In response, Rumer had this to say to her mother: “Oh mama ❤️😍 I love you so. Knowing what it takes to help bring a soul into this world gives it a whole new meaning for me. I always thought this was my day but I know now it has always been ours. Happy birthday mama”
