Crowd Goes Absolutely Nuts For Couple's 'Dirty Dancing' Swing Routine
Jul 27, 2018
Swing has become a dance classic. If that makes you think it's for old fuddy duddies, think again. Check out the smooth style brought to it by Bianca Locatelli and Nils Andrén, a dance sensation on YouTube.
These two energetic dance devotees get to travel the world to spread their love of dancing via teaching it, participating in competitions and performing routines. They've won numerous awards and their audiences are crazy about them.
Bianca started dancing when she was just six years old. She has tried a wide variety of dance forms, including street dancing and ballet. But she eventually decided that swing was her true love.

Nils came to dance later in life, after trying more traditional male sports, including ice hockey and soccer. He was finally pointed in the right direction by a dance teacher who came to his school. He entered a competition, learned the boogie woogie for it and won. He's been a dancer ever since.
They got together in 2013 after she moved to Sweden. Their dance fame really took off after they danced to "Hey! Baby" at the "Rock That Swing" festival in Munich and a video of their performance hit YouTube. This is the same song that wowed audiences in Dirty Dancing with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.
Just like in that movie, part of their appeal is that just love to dance and it shows. Another part of the appeal is that their routines are family-friendly viewing. Their joy isn't all sexed up, while also not being prudish. But they're also so good, they make it look easy. Their performance in that video was game changing for them. It helped them become international stars.
But just like you can't really get the sound from a story in a magazine, dance is something you must see to appreciate. You really need to see them in action to understand the appeal.
