Couple Reveal They Received 'Hate' & Were 'Judged' By Strangers Because Husband Was Pregnant With Their Kids

Around the globe, there are families that other people consider non-traditional since there are same-sex couples who either adopt children or conceive through surrogacy. However, there are also transgender couples who have kids naturally, but not everyone agrees with their decision, and they are often judged just for wanting to have a normal life.
This is what happened to a couple named Syven and Tori who are proud parents of two children named Prophet and Wynter.
The couple appeared in an episode of “My Extraordinary Family” by Truly on YouTube, and they shared their journey, as well as hardships that they encountered along the way, to becoming parents.
“My husband gave birth to our children,” Tori said.
Syven went on to share his life story as he revealed that he was “assigned female at birth.” He went on to transition at a very young age, and he realized everything since he was a kid.
Unfortunately, he had to deal with hardships as there were people who judged him to the point that there were friends who left him and family members who shunned him.
On the other hand, Tori was “assigned male at birth,” and she started her transition journey when she was around 18 or 19 years old.
She later noted that she loved her transition journey, but there were also “rocky” parts.
When asked about how Syven felt when he found out that he was pregnant both times, he said he was emotional, but he was “happy” about it.
Although the couple was ecstatic to have children, Syven said there were also negative comments he received as some people "judged" him and questioned why he was having a kid because “men don’t have babies.”

Syven also revealed that there were some women who looked at him differently when he went to the OB-GYN and he felt “uncomfortable” because he and his partner didn’t want to hide the pregnancy.
“People would stare, they would smirk and giggle, and point, and things like that, but they never said anything,” Tori added.
Syven later shared his experience during pregnancy with the couple's first-born child Prophet. Although it was “great” at first, he encountered problems towards the end as he had severe preeclampsia and when Prophet was born, it was “dramatic.”
Six months later, their second baby Wynter was conceived. He said the pregnancy made him sick and hurt him, but it wasn’t as bad as their first baby.
Tori then spoke about being a parent, as she said: “When you have kids, it completely changes you, it matures you. ... You don’t want nothing but your relationship and your family to be healthy and at its best.”
Although they were supported by some of their family members like Syven’s mom and brother, there were also other people who judged them as he described that there were people who told him that they were sorry for the baby and even said that the baby needs a new family.
Tori also got negative comments from other people who told her that she will “never be the mom” and her “kids is gonna grow up to be crazy.”
She later shared her message to trans people who are aspiring parents, as she said: “You’re always going to have negative comments, or hate, or people judging you … Don’t let that faze you, don’t take it to heart, keep doing you.”
