Jul 21, 2020
At 71-years-old, few celebrities look as great as Erik Estrada. This famous actor, police officer, and voice actor rose to fame when he featured in the Series CHiPs that dominated our screens from 1977-1983. In the series, he played Francis Llewelyn 'Ponch' Poncherello, a highway patrol officer.
Little has been heard about him since then until his photo was posted recently on Twitter. He looks so unbelievably young and great that you may have trouble believing that he is truly 71-years-old.
In this photo, he is seen with his hands around another man as they both smile at the camera and pose for the photo with some trees behind them. They both look like they are enjoying themselves, as the striking picture of him acting on the series floods your mind.

Most of us thought that Erik found his break when he made it as a lead actor in that series, but his website states something else. Moreover, this is not uncommon for most celebrities. Sometimes when they grace our screens, we imagine they have it all, that everything in their lives seems to have fallen in place.
Do you wonder how they manage to hide behind their screen characters so successfully and mask any rough patches in their lives? Of course, not all of them do this well, as some expose every detail about their lives.
Erik's break had come earlier when he joined the cast on The Cross and the Switchblade in the '70s. This film, that is still watched in the USA, had a strong stance against crime and its message is transformative, which endeared it to the American audience.
In 1993, his acting career got a boost when he was included in the cast on the Spanish film, Dos Mujeres, Un Camino. His prior knowledge of Spanish, which he polished to suit his role in the film, made him a favorite among the Mexican fans.
