Feb 28, 2022
Ben Stiller is a man of many talents. He is best known for his work as an actor, director, and comedian and also has credits as a producer and screenwriter. He was born on Nov. 30, 1965, in New York City and was raised by some incredibly talented parents – Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. It's no surprise that Stiller found his way to Hollywood and has become well known and loved for his work in a plethora of hilarious movies.
Some of Stiller's most well-known films that he's played a part in include "Zoolander," "There's Something About Mary," "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" and the "Night at the Museum" trilogy. As well as playing a role in multiple stages of creating movies, Stiller has also gone on to make numerous cameos in music videos and television shows. He has also gone on to win plenty of awards, including an Emmy Award, a Britannia Award, and multiple MTV Movie Awards.
With such a long and successful career, it's no surprise that pieces of Stiller's personal life have become public knowledge. He dated a few actresses during the early stages of his career, including Calista Flockhart and Amanda Peet. However, his relationship with Christine Taylor is the one that is still going strong today. They have been married since 2000 and have since welcomed two children. They have even appeared in a few films together.
Although the pair faced some hardships along the way, Stiller and Taylor have shown that love at first sight is the most powerful type of love two people can have.
Falling In Love
Growing up, it was easy for Stiller to be inspired by the arts as he was surrounded by his talented parents. Speaking with Parade, he said, "Growing up, I was immersed in it. My sister and I would be with my parents when they'd do a play on Broadway or they'd do summer stock somewhere and we'd tour with them. They were so passionate about it. It seemed like fun."
It's clear that Stiller has many talents and stays busy with constant projects. Still, he has found time for his loved ones. He met his wife while he was directing "Heat Vision and Jack" in 1999, according to Parade. Taylor had come in for an audition and did well.
Stiller said that he had just gotten out of a long relationship with actress Jeanne Tripplehorn and Taylor had also just gotten out of a relationship. The pair went on a date and "clicked." Stiller recalled, "We were both on the rebound. And we just jumped. We got married pretty quickly." He explained that they work so well because they "want to make it work" and "laugh a lot."
It seemed to be love at first sight for Stiller and Taylor. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Stiller said, "When I met her, I pretty much thought, 'That's the person.' It was like, 'Wow, this is such a great person. I love her.'"
Stiller and Taylor tied the knot in May 2000. They went on to appear in a few films together, including "Zoolander," "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" and "Tropic Thunder." They also have one daughter named Ella and one son named Quinlin.

Finding Their Way Back
The pair stood by each other's side through hard times. In October 2016, Stiller revealed that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer two years prior. During an interview with Howard Stern, he said, "It came out of the blue for me. I had no idea." According to Entertainment Tonight, Stiller said he was fortunate in the sense that his "cancer was detected early enough to treat."
Back in February 2016, Stiller and Taylor revealed their secret to making their marriage last: laughter. Stiller said:
"I think you got to laugh. Because you know after a while you know life is life you know? We all have to deal with what life throws at us, so you got to have a sense of humor about it. If you can share that, at the end, it makes a huge difference."
However, the pair shocked the world in 2017 when they announced that they were separating after 17 years of marriage. They released a statement saying:
"With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate. Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closets of friends."
Fortunately, the couple was able to reconcile in 2021. According to PEOPLE, Stiller and Taylor never officially ended their relationship and never dated other people during their time apart. Stiller moved back in with Taylor during the pandemic so he would be able to see his children, and the couple was able to rekindle their relationship – proving that love at first sight never fades.
