Aug 30, 2018
A typical domestic violence call turned tragic on December 21, 2017. Two police officers answered the call in Saraland, Alabama. One of the officers was named Jackie Tucker. She arrived on the scene with her partner. A 27-year-old man named Matthew Blake Richardson was enraged and had a weapon. He began shooting at the officers and ended up hitting Jackie in the head.
After shooting Jackie, Richardson ended up taking his own life. While this was the end of the story for Richardson, Jackie thankfully survived the shooting.

Now, it has been two years since that fateful day. The entire community still supports Officer Tucker as she strives to recover. Back in 2017, her husband, Aaron, went on television to talk about how well she was doing. Like his wife, Aaron works as a police officer. For Aaron and Jackie, the last two years have been incredibly difficult.
After spending a year in the hospital, Jackie's doctors finally let her return home. They told the poor woman that she may ever get to walk again. While her daily life is still a struggle, Jackie is clearly loved by everyone who knows her. At the annual Law Enforcement Prayer Luncheon, Jackie was named the “Hometown Hero.”
Even though the incident was years ago, people still pray for her full recovery. In recent months, there was even a fundraiser to cover her medical bills. On August 25, more than 200 bikers drove to Saraland's fire station for a public prayer gathering. Afterward, the bikers hosted a motorcycle ride to raise funds for her recovery.
One of Tucker's supporters, Allie Stevens, told the news that she thought it was amazing how many people supported Jackie. To many in the small community, Jackie was one of the best officers on the force. The entire community has gathered together to show the world how important it is to support law enforcement officers. Many people have been left speechless by the outpouring of support.
One of the motorcycle clubs supporting the fundraising ride was Life Riders Motorcycle Ministries. The group is a nonprofit organization that brings faith to motorcycle riding. In their post, the group wrote about their hopes for Jackie's recovery as they prayed for her. While recovery is not easy, Jackie is lucky to have the love and support of so many people in her community.
