Bruce Willis & Demi Moore's Daughter Tallulah Reveals The Health Diagnosis That ‘Changed’ Her Life
Apr 30, 2024
Bruce Willis is one of the most legendary Hollywood actors of all time. He is most famous for his roles in action films but has also shown to have quite a diverse set of talents, appearing in films and television shows in various genres and even showing off his skills as a singer. On top of that, Bruce is also adored for his amazing qualities as a husband and father.
Bruce had his breakthrough in 1985 with the TV series “Moonlighting.” Some of his most loved performances include those in the films “Pulp Fiction,” “Armageddon,” “The Sixth Sense,” and his portrayal of John McClane in the “Die Hard” franchise.
Bruce has had some ups and downs in his private life regarding finding love. He has been married two times and is the father of five daughters. Bruce first married actress Demi Moore in 1987, and the two had three daughters together: Rumer Willis, Scout Willis and Tallulah Willis.
Although the couple was regarded as a Hollywood powerhouse then, the marriage was not working out behind closed doors. Bruce and Moore divorced in 2000 but have remained good friends and great co-parents ever since. In 2009, Bruce married model Emma Heming, and the couple welcomed two daughters: Mabel and Evelyn Penn.
Bruce’s family announced that he was suffering from aphasia in 2022. In February 2023, the family further revealed that the beloved actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. The diagnosis meant Bruce’s health had been declining for years and would continue to do so.
In March 2024, Tallulah shared an old video in which she caressed her father’s face during a public interview, which sparked a bigger conversation about a shocking health diagnosis she received as an adult.
Bruce and Moore have three daughters: Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. Although their love story didn’t last, they have remained close friends and are still a tight family unit.
The family stepped in to take care of Bruce after he was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, which made it increasingly difficult for him to act, leading to his retirement from acting in March 2022. He was later diagnosed with dementia. Despite the setback, Bruce, Heming, Moore and all his children have moved forward as a strong family unit.
Over the years, the Willis-Moore-Heming family has shown that they love spending quality time together, but nothing can top seeing a father and his daughter bonding. Bruce spent some of the year-end holidays in 2022 basking in the love and light of his beautiful family.
Photos that Moore and their daughters posted on Instagram showed the family hanging out at home as one unit. One picture was of Bruce and Tallulah with Moore's dog, Pilaf, while another photo was of Pilaf with another pet dog. Moore captioned the post uploaded on Dec. 12, 2022:
“We are FAMILY!! Getting into the holiday spirit!”
On Jan. 12, 2023, Bruce’s youngest daughter with Moore, Tallulah, posted a series of photos on Instagram, including some fun pictures of her and her father. They hugged as Bruce made a goofy face, and Tallulah smiled ear-to-ear. Tallulah captioned the post, “high drama club ~~ life skills ~~ fingers crossed I eat a veggie this week LMAO.” The pair wore matching gray pants, showing how close their father-daughter bond goes.

Tallulah reminisced further about the priceless moments she shared with her father on social media in 2024. In March 2024, she shared a video of her mindlessly playing with Bruce’s head and ears while he was interviewed on a red carpet. The action star carried the young Tallulah, who inspected her father’s right ear and fiddled with it for a significant portion of the interview.
“tell me your (sic) autistic without telling me your autistic 😂,” Tallulah captioned the video on Instagram.
Meanwhile, fans expressed their adoration toward Tallulah and Bruce. Some were even surprised that she casually revealed that she has autism.
“I love how unfazed your Dad is here,” one person commented, while Scout, her sister, joked that the young Tallulah was “stimming.”
“In your defense, shaved heads are as relaxing as little Japanese sand zen gardens,” one noted.
Unbeknownst to many prior to her post, Tallulah was indeed diagnosed with autism.
“This is the first time I’ve ever publicly shared my diagnosis,” Tallulah said in the comments, responding to one of the fans who asked about her condition. “Found out this summer and it’s changed my life.”
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects the way people interact with others, communicate, learn and behave. Although it can be diagnosed at any age, autism is described as a “developmental disorder” because symptoms generally appear by the age of 2.
In 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted research that revealed that an estimated 5,437,988 (2.21%) adults in the United States have ASD.
