If you are a fan of the hit political drama show “Blue Bloods” on CBS, you would be familiar with Bridget Moynahan. Portraying the role of a New York County Assistant District Attorney and single mother, Erin Reagan. Moynahan has become a household name since she took on the role in 2010.

At 51 years old, Moynahan took on roles both in film and television that expanded her acting range. Among the films that she has starred in are “The Sum of All Fears,” “Gray Matters,” “Ramona and Beezus,” “Lord of War” and “I, Robot,” to name a few.

But most notably, Moynahan played a significant role in Keannu Reeves’ American neo-noir action thriller film series “John Wick.” She played Reeves’ character’s wife, Helen Wick, in multiple movies — including the first film, “John Wick: Chapter 2” and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.”

Like many celebrities in Hollywood, Moynahan’s beauty has remained timeless over the years. She first gained prominence as Natasha Naginsky in the American romantic comedy-drama television series “Sex and the City,” and it's remained one of her most prominent roles.

Apart from her television and movie career, Moynahan has also had a colorful personal life that led her to rediscover herself in various ways. In an interview with Glamour Magazine in 2021, Moynahan opened up about living life outside the show "Blue Bloods" and finding love and her authentic self stripped from the pressure that comes with reaching 50. Read on to learn more about Moynahan’s secret to how she became more confident as she grew older.

Formally known as Kathryn Bridget Moynahan, the “Six Degrees” actress was born in Binghamton, New York, on April 28, 1971. She was born to former school teacher Mary Bridget and scientist Edward Bradley and was the second child in the family. Moynahan has an older brother Andy who works as a computer programmer, and Sean, her younger brother, who is a potter. When she was 7 years old, her family moved to Massachusetts, prompting her to attend Longmeadow High School. Moynahan was a model student-athlete; she captained three different sports groups in high school, including lacrosse, soccer and basketball.

Growing up, she described herself as a tomboy, but her early interests did not stop her from pursuing a modeling career after graduating high school. After booking department store modeling gigs in Springfield, Massachusetts, Moynahan, at 18 years old, moved to the Big Apple and started appearing on the covers of Vogue, Elle and even Glamour.

After a flurry of modeling gigs, Moynahan ventured into acting and started booking shampoo commercials. She eventually found herself booking the role of Natasha Naginsky on the Emmy Award-winning HBO show “Sex and the City.”

Speaking to Glamour Magazine in 2021, Moynahan recalled her audition day for her iconic “Sex and the City” role.

“I almost left because I had three other auditions that day and didn't want to be late for the other ones. But I stayed, and I couldn't believe that it turned into such a role,” she said.

After taking on the role, Moynahan’s life changed forever. Four years later, she dated NFL quarterback Tom Brady. While their relationship lasted for two years, it ended on a rather complicated note as Moynahan realized that she was pregnant with Brady months after they ended their relationship.

In 2007, Moynahan confirmed to People Magazine that she was carrying her child with Brady — John Edward Moynahan. This shocked everyone as Brady began dating model Giselle Bündchen. Brady and Bridget decided to co-parent, and the football player ended up getting married to Bündchen in 2009.

This complicated family dynamic is not traditional, but it seems that they make it work for them. Bridget and Bündchen make an effort to work together and get along, and the same goes for Brady as well.

In 2015, Moynahan married businessman Andrew Frankel at a ceremony in the Hamptons. In 2021, they celebrated their sixth anniversary, and Moynahan had this to say about finding love in her 40s:

“What I learned was sometimes you have to fish in another pond, as the saying goes. I had been dating people in the industry. I met a really solid, good human being with none of the pretension or all that other litter. He's a really good person and a good partner. I don't think as a younger person I understood what that meant when it pertains to real-life situations,“ she told Glamour Magazine

Elsewhere in the empowering interview, Moynahan did not shy away from admitting that she was approaching 50 years old at the time — seemingly as confident as ever.

“I actually had no reservations or insecurities about turning 50. I have a very strong confidence and self-awareness of how I feel and what I look like. I feel like I look really good at 50,” she shared. “So I don't get caught up in the age game, or the weight game, or any other game that society or people might put on you when you turn a certain age. I'm feeling really great. I think I look really great. It's just a number.”
