Bride’s Brothers Pull Off ‘Flower Bros’ Role As Opposed To The Traditional Flower Girls Train

Jul 14, 2023

Age-long wedding trends and traditions have received makeovers and tweaks in recent years. From ladies serving as groomsmen, women officiating wedding ceremonies, mothers walking their daughters down the aisle to brides preferring to wear black wedding dresses, the traditions of wedding ceremonies are indeed changing.

Because these new trends are avant-garde, they often gain public attention for their level of creativity. In a similar fashion of creatively breaking wedding ceremony norms, Jessica Harvey, a social media influencer, had the internet abuzz during her matrimonial ceremony in 2022. Instead of lining up flower girls on her big day, Harvey had her brothers playing the role to the point of surpassing expectations.

Harvey runs a lifestyle and beauty brand on social media platforms, including YoTube, Instagram, and Tiktok. The media personality has been quite successful, garnering over 500,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. Her content type ranges everything lifestyle-related, from beauty tips, skincare, relationship talks, and general life occurrences.

The content creator's media shares are often engaging, and after she displayed the uncommon detail of her wedding, she received more engagements across all media platforms.

In a video shared on TikTok, Harvey showed off how she and her siblings pulled off the bride and groom entrance with a move that caught many off guard and delighted their guests. The clip opened with Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak's (Silk Sonic) hit single "Leave the Door Open" ushering in the siblings.

The bride's brothers stood in front of some billowing white curtains as they looked swanky in brown and dark green suits. The duo had fanny packs from which they took out flower petals to throw. Harvey wrote on the clip:

"My brothers weren't groomsmen, so I made them my flower boys."

The brothers slowly moved through the aisle while shimmying to the rhythm of the music. All around them, the merry crowd erupted in shouts of encouragement and applause. It was clear that Harvey's brothers were having the time of their lives as they sprayed the petals. They continued dancing and threw some of the flowers at the ladies, cheering them on.

Harvey wanted to know what other social media users thought of her brothers, and it was clear that the comment section was smitten. One person admirably penned, "Look how happy they made the guests! I think they have started a new wedding trend."

Harvey replied to the fellow TikToker as she mentioned that she had seen the trend elsewhere, but her siblings "definitely put a spin on it." She added that it was "a great way to break the seriousness of a wedding and bring good vibes." One person mentioned, "I love how their fanny pack says 'Flower Bros.'"

A second admirer added, "They understood the assignment." More commentators echoed the sentiment as they approved of Harvey's brothers' presentation.

According to Newsweek, the bride reached out, opening up on how they were able to execute the flower boys idea. She recalled being in a dilemma about including her brothers in the occasion. She initially thought of walking down the aisle with them or a brother-sister dance, but these didn't seem like a perfect plan until her friend suggested the flower bros idea.

Harvey and her spouse told her brothers to have fun with it, and they delivered. She added that they had no rehearsals, and their personalities came in handy. The proud bride noted that she was glad her siblings captivated the guests.
