Brave Man Jumps Into Freezing Water In Boxers In Order To Save Drowning Deer
Sep 25, 2020
It’s not every day that you see a man jump in the water to save wildlife — but this man is clearly an exception. And it’s definitely worth mentioning that the water just so happened to be freezing cold!
A painter from Lincolnshire, Marc Headon surely didn’t expect this type of job for the day back in 2019. He had been rained out of his normal duties and decided to drive to Saxilby with a friend.

As they took the drive, he and Jamie Toyne saw something in the canal and decided to pull over and take a closer look. At first, they both thought it was just a large fish, but after looking closer they realized it was actually a deer!
Without hesitation, Marc began stripping off his clothes. When he reached his boxers, he took a jump into the cold water, as Metro reports.
He recalls the poor deer was struggling and would drown very soon without help. He pulled the deer over to safety as soon as he reached it. Jamie was able to lend a hand with helping them both out of the water.

Marc then carried the deer up to the top of the steep bank. They wrapped it in some warm blankets and tried to keep it as calm as possible, with a loud and busy road right by them.
Jamie took a video as Marc rescued the deer and then uploaded it to Facebook later that evening. That’s where the video went viral in just a matter of hours. It’s not a shock that the video has now been shared thousands of times.
According to The Sun, Jamie captioned the video with: "Madness just driving past the canal in Saxilby, and saw some ears in the water." He went on to finish the story of how they saw the deer and helped to rescue it, all while giving Marc the proper credit for jumping into the freezing water after the little thing.
As Marc reached the side of the water, you’ll see this is where the video stops because Jamie had to assist as well. But then another clip shows Marc and the deer as they have it wrapped up trying to keep it warm.
They managed to take the deer to a nearby friend’s house and called for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
As they were waiting on them to arrive, they managed to feed the deer and give it some water to drink as well. Once the Wildlife Trust arrived, they soon took over. They thanked them for saving the baby’s life and for their actions.
