Brad Pitt Brings Signature Swagger To Oscars In Classy Tux And Distinct Ponytail

Apr 26, 2021

On April 25, 2021, Brad Pitt returned to the Academy Awards stage to present awards for the evening. Though he skipped out on being on the red carpet beforehand, his signature look on the stage certainly showed his fans that Pitt continues to be not just a brilliant actor but also an incredibly stylish man who can pull off any look. His understated ponytail paired along with a sleek and polished suit brought out the best of both worlds: a "messy" look that exuded a casual elegance and a classy suit that had all the markings of tasteful extravagance.

The Academy Awards recognize and honor artistic and technical merit in the film industry annually. 2021 marked the 93rd year that the awards have taken place. The entire ceremony is a chance for celebrities to don their best outfits and enjoy a night of flair and celebration together. The night is highly publicized and religiously followed, with most news outlets reporting about the most prominent winners of the night and their contribution to the film industry. Moreover, the glitz and glam of the dresses and suits are also a contributing factor towards the excitement of the evening.

This year also marked a different type of Oscars ceremony due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The guest list was highly vetted and all attendees needed to be vaccinated and had to be tested multiple times to qualify as a guest. This, of course, made the guest list much smaller than usual, and the ceremony marked by restrictions and limits according to Harper's Bazaar

Brad Pitt has been an A-list celebrity for two decades and counting; his professional life has been as much a part of his fame as his private life. Most significantly, his romantic relationships have been at the forefront of gossip columns and tabloids for over a decade. His first marriage to Jennifer Aniston was, as all major celebrity relationships, followed by media for a while. However, the public dissolution of this marriage and the rumors of infidelity with his co-star Angelina Jolie led to a very public interest in all the concerned parties. For a while, arguments would erupt over people who identified either as #TeamAniston or #TeamJolie, reports CNN

Pitt ended up leaving Aniston for Jolie, and the supercouple pair, nicknamed "Bangelina" by the media, became something of a media sensation themselves for their marriage as wells as their growing family. Jolie and Pitt remained together from 2005 and married in 2014, but eventually divorced in 2017 and went their separate ways.

Both Pitt and Aniston had been very vocal that the end of their relationship was not as the media portrayed it, but the stories of drama took a life of their own over the years. Marie Claire reported that the couple was back on speaking terms since Pitt's divorce in 2017 and had since rekindled their friendship.

At the Screen Actor's Guild Awards in 2020, the interaction between Aniston and Pitt became one of the viral moments of the ceremony. The couple met backstage and were photographed having an affection exchange after both won awards separately. While this could have been the biggest Pitt moment in 2020, he has now brought his game over to 2021.

Various news outlets picked up on the fact that Pitt's new hairstyle was incredibly suave but also offered a more subdued look. Social media users were taken by Pitt's "effortlessly messy" but classy look that was paired with a sleek tuxedo that gave Pitt a very classic "Holywood" look. He embodied the "less is more" concept, and people were taken by the charismatic actor.

One person tweeted, "I did a hair mask in the shower today, took a ‘glow’ vitamin, and I still don’t think my hair looks as nice and shiny as Brad Pitt’s low key man bun." Pitt has been known to pull off any hairstyle, and in the past, has had various hairdos that set the trend for the time. His hair evolution has been followed by the media as well.,

While Pitt skipped out on the red carpet ceremony this year, he appeared on stage and was on hand to present the Best Supporting Actress award, which went to Yuh-Jung Youn, whose role in the movie "Minari" was highly commended. While receiving her award, she seemed a little starstruck as she came onto the stage. "Mr. Brad Pitt, finally. Nice to meet you," she exclaimed in her speech according to Page Six

Pitt has had many viral moments throughout his life, but his understated-yet-exquisite look at this year's Oscar ceremony is one that will be remembered for years to come. While the Oscars too have been impacted by the ongoing pandemic, they have found a way to keep everyone safe while also putting on a great show.
