At 71, Kiss Rocker Paul Stanley Shares Rare Bare-Faced Photo With His Youngest Child

Apr 11, 2023

Paul Stanley, a member of the hard rock band Kiss, is known to most of his fans for his signature look, where he dons makeup for most of his performances. But in a new selfie with his daughter Emily, the rocker was spotted sans makeup — and he looks fantastic!

Born on Jan. 20, 1952, Stanley Bert Eisen, more popularly known as Paul Stanley, is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Despite pursuing hard rock and heavy metal as his musical genres, he was greatly moved by Beethoven’s works growing up.

Even though he became successful in his career as a music artist, he faced a lot of challenges that affected his hearing on one side of his ear. This included determining the direction of a sound as well as understanding speech in a noisy environment. This was due to reconstructive surgery that he underwent to address a birth defect called microtia. He kept his condition a secret from everyone, including his fellow Kiss members.

“Quite honestly, had he known and had other people known, life would have been easier, but I wasn't ready to let down that guard. Instead, at times I made myself pretty impossible and made myself not be the most accessible or likable person,” he told PEOPLE back in 2021, explaining his decision to keep it a secret from everyone.

Then again, that did not stop him from pursuing his love of music. But before he became part of the iconic band Kiss, he was part of other bands including Gene Simmons’ band Wicked Lester. While Wicked Lester didn’t last, they eventually formed another band. That was the start of Kiss. Stanley then presented a persona called “the Starchild.”

As a solo artist, he released his self-titled album “Paul Stanley” on Sept. 18, 1978.

Meanwhile, his personal life was no different as it can be considered a success in so many ways as well, having been gifted with a beautiful wife and four children. While his marriage with his first wife Pamela Bowen ended after only nine years, they were given a child, Evan, whom they share together.

But four years later, he found the love of his life, Erin Sutton, whom he married on Nov. 19, 2005.

"I was out to dinner with a friend of mine, and at the next table were a bunch of women I knew," he said, recalling the time he met his wife. "I was sitting at this table and in came this woman in the restaurant. I just looked at her, and I was captivated, not in the way where I want to go home with her and end up with her or anything like that. It was, 'I want to talk to this woman.' I was compelled,” he added.

They have since been blessed with three children: Colin, Sarah and Emily.

Another challenge came into the musician's life in 2007 after he was hospitalized due to tachycardia. It was the first time Stanley missed a performance with Kiss since the band was formed in 1973.

Back in 2008, he opened up with Forbes about how becoming a father changed his perspective in life, saying he had many realizations after his children came into his life.

"I went through quite a bit of life wondering what life was about and it just seemed like perhaps at the end of the day it didn't mean much because we go through our lives and then we're gone," he said.

"With each of my children, all of which I either helped to deliver or pulled out or did all kinds of participations, it became clear to me that we only die physically because we are the product of the generations before us and we live on in the generations after us," he added. "The children we create ultimately are the voices of us in the future."

Despite the successes he achieved as an artist, Stanley said he realized that it’s his family and children that matter at the end of the day.

"That's the core," he said. "You can build on that, but without that, it's all pretty hollow. That's why you see certain bands that are always touring, because they have nothing to go home to. Without that, they have nothing."

While Stanley is often seen in public wearing makeup for his performances, it isn’t usually the case most of the time especially when he is spending time with his family. In March 2023, Stanley shared a cute photo where he can be seen bare-faced alongside his youngest daughter, Emily. Stanley was all smiles as he struck a pose with his daughter.

“Family vacation! My beautiful Emily brightens the day even more!” he simply wrote in his tweet.

Several people replied to his tweet, with many saying they look exactly like each other.

“Looks just like you!” one person said.

“Looks just like you Paul so beautiful and full of life. A blessing always. God knows what he was doing for sure. Beautiful,” another person said.

Meanwhile, others said they think his daughter is his biggest accomplishment in life.

“Of all the things you've accomplished sir, I'd say she tops them all,” one other person said.
