At 67, Kim Cattrall Admits She’s ‘All About Battling Aging’ With Fillers, Botox And Cosmetic Surgery

Kim Cattrall, best known for her role as Samantha Jones in "Sex and the City" (SATC), has opened up about her evolving approach to aging and her decision to undergo cosmetic procedures. The 67-year-old actress, who is set to briefly reprise her iconic role in the spinoff series "And Just Like That" season 2 in June 2023, discussed her views on beauty and the importance of looking after oneself in a recent interview.

Speaking with The Times, Cattrall said she's “all about battling aging” in every way possible. The actress also acknowledged the availability of various treatments, such as fillers and Botox, that can stimulate the body's natural defenses against aging. She emphasized the need for both financial means and the right surgeon to achieve the desired results, as she stated, "You want to look like you!"

This stance marks a notable change from Cattrall's previous views on aging naturally. In the past, she had admired actresses like Judi Dench, who embraced growing old. 

However, Cattrall now believes in looking her best, but her decision to undergo cosmetic procedures is not solely driven by vanity. As an actress playing certain characters, she feels it is essential to maintain a particular appearance professionally.

Cattrall, born in Liverpool in August 1956, won a Golden Globe award and was nominated for an Emmy several times for playing Jones, an outspoken woman who has no qualms about enjoying men. Her character was known for her brash personality, her protectiveness of her friends and her sexual appetite. 

The actress said in a 2003 interview with ABC News that she's more reserved and less daring than her famous character in real life. It made her uncomfortable to play the role in the beginning because Jones is sexually liberated. However, Cattrall also loves that the character is not a judgemental person.  

Cattrall thrilled fans with the announcement of her brief cameo in the second season of "And Just Like That." Despite her absence from the "SATC" revival in the first season, she remained open to potential collaborations and future opportunities within the franchise. She stressed that her decision to decline participation was not a reflection of any personal animosity but rather a natural progression of her artistic journey.

The actress is also preparing for the debut of her Netflix series "Glamorous" where she plays a makeup mogul. Thus, the subject of cosmetic enhancements came up in her interview.

“I'm in my 60s now and I'm all about battling aging in every way I can," Cattrall said. "There are fillers, Botox, there’s so many different things that you can investigate and try and see if it’s for you. "

"It’s not just a vanity thing," Cattrall clarified. "I play a certain kind of woman who looks a certain kind of way. And professionally, I am looking after myself."

While Cattrall's decision to undergo cosmetic procedures has sparked speculation about her previous transformations, she has not confirmed or denied any specific alterations. In the past, she admitted to receiving Botox but expressed concerns about going under the knife. However, her latest statements suggest a shift in her perspective, focusing on feeling and looking healthy while embracing her age.

Meanwhile, details about Cattrall's cameo in "And Just Like That" have been closely guarded, and she filmed her scene separately, without interacting with the cast or showrunner Michael Patrick King. Even the cast members were unaware of her involvement until the news broke.
