Sep 13, 2023
Heather Graham has had a successful career in film and television. Born on Jan. 29, 1970, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Graham’s father was a retired FBI agent who later became a public speaker. Her mother was a former schoolteacher who became an author of children’s books.
Graham started her acting career after dropping out of college and moving to Hollywood to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Among her first work was a role in the television series “Growing Pains.” She appeared in several television shows and films throughout the 1990s, but it was her role as Rollergirl in the 1997 film “Boogie Nights” that brought her critical acclaim and shot her to fame.
Following her success in “Boogie Nights,” Graham continued to work steadily in Hollywood, appearing in a variety of films such as “Lost in Space,” “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,” “From Hell” and “The Hangover.” She also appeared in the television series “Twin Peaks” and “Scrubs.”
In addition to her acting and activism, Graham is also known for her striking looks. She has been named one of the sexiest and most stylish women in Hollywood and has been the face of campaigns for brands such as Calvin Klein and Garnier. At 53, Graham looks beautiful despite her age as she keeps a strict regimen that helps her maintain the enviable body that she has.
In an Instagram post on Aug. 15, 2023, Graham shared a carousel of photos that showcase her incredible physique. Read on to learn more about how she keeps her body the same as when she was younger and how gorgeous she looked in the photos!
Heather Graham has been an active figure in the entertainment industry since the 1980s. However, it wasn’t until the late 1990s that the actress finally saw her continued determination pay off. Up until then, though, she worked hard to find her footing through different commercials, TV shows and films.
Graham made her first film appearance in an uncredited role in 1984 with a cameo in “Mrs. Soffel.” Fortunately, just a couple of years later, she made her first credited appearance in the TV film “Student Exchange.” Graham went on to appear in a handful of television shows as well, including the game show “Scrabble” and the sitcom “Growing Pains,” as well as numerous commercials.
Finally, in 1988, Graham began to make waves with her career as she landed one of her most high-profile roles in the teen comedy movie “License to Drive.” The movie also starred Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. Distributed by 20th Century Fox, the movie went on to gross over $20 million at the box office in North America. Graham portrayed the role of Mercedes Lane, who was the love interest of Haim’s character. Her efforts in the role earned her a Young Artist Award nomination.
Graham has also worked alongside a number of accomplished stars, including the likes of Matt Dillon, Keanu Reeves, Sally Field, Will Smith, Ian McKellen, Uma Thurman and Jon Favreau. While she has worked alongside an impressive number of well-respected actors and actresses, Graham told The Guardian that the dream people she would have liked to cast to play her in the movie of her life would be Kate Winslet, Amy Adams or Katharine Hepburn.

The actress saw her career take new heights after taking on an adult role in the critically acclaimed movie “Boogie Nights” in 1997. The cast included Mark Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, Don Cheadle, John C. Reilly, William H. Macy and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The ensemble was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Series, although they ultimately lost to “The Full Monty.” However, a few other stars from the cast ended up winning their own separate awards.
Graham has expressed how thankful she is that her parents allowed her to pursue her dreams. “I am very grateful that they supported me in becoming an actor,” she told The Guardian. Being an actress is something that the star always envisioned for herself.
“I used to dress up in my mom’s old clothes and play with these kids from the neighbourhood and make up stories: I would pretend that we were all vampires. I became more shy and awkward when I was nine and my family moved again (my dad was in the FBI). Being in a new place made me feel insecure,” she explained.
Still, Graham admitted that she used to be too hard on herself, but she fortunately has grown to fully embrace who she is today. “I spent too many years being hard on myself, like a drill sergeant in my head,” Graham said. “I thought that if I was hard on myself, I’d get more results, but I now know that’s not true.”
Back in 2013, Graham spoke with Refinery29 about what it was like for her to work with younger stars in Hollywood as well, including “High School Musical” star Zac Efron and “Wizards of Waverly Place” star Selena Gomez.
"I’m so impressed by them,” Graham said. “It’s hard to look at them and think that they're only in their early 20s. I got to know Zac better than I got to know Selena, but both of them just seem so mature and business-like. I don’t think that at that age I could have been this huge corporation.”
The actress also gave the younger generation of Hollywood some advice. “But I guess, not that they need advice, you’ve gotta just have a balance between your work and your personal life. It’s fun to meet creative people at all different levels of their career,” she explained.
In the same interview, Graham opened up about what it was like for her to live on two opposite coasts of the United States: California and New York.
"I feel like New York has people doing many different kinds of jobs, whereas L.A. is a little bit single-focused with people who are mainly working in film or television,” she explained. While she mentioned that going to New York was “exciting,” Los Angeles was the better place to “just relax.”
She added, “It’s nice to have both. But I’m starting to feel more like a New Yorker, even though I spend more time in L.A."
Along with having an accomplished career, Graham has also been lucky enough to find love over the course of her life.
Graham has dated a lot of famous men in the past, including Heath Ledger, Josh Lucas, Edward Burns and British rocker Adam Ant. She is now attached to snowboarder John de Neufville. In April 2023, she told People how refreshing it felt to date someone outside of the entertainment industry and said:
“Of course, you want someone to understand your crazy schedule, which is different than a normal job, but I like dating someone who’s not in the business. It puts it in perspective. Sometimes your job becomes so important to you, and then you realize there’s so many other things in life that are happening. It’s not all about the movie business.”
Being “more of a sports guy,” according to Graham, de Neufville is only now catching up with some of her past work.
“Even the ones that I’m so embarrassed of! But he always tells me I was great and that he is really impressed. It’s sweet,” she gushed.
She said she also makes time to love and pamper herself through practicing transcendental meditation, doing yoga and repeating daily affirmations.
“The more that I try being kind to myself, I feel like I can take it into all my other relationships and be more loving in those relationships. As I’ve grown up, I realized I really need to take care of myself first, and then I actually have more to give other people,” she explained.
Graham added she never takes for granted the many blessings in her life and said:
“I still am ambitious, but whenever I can really relax and get into a place of gratitude, then I feel like I really can enjoy all the good things in my life, which I have a lot.”
In the same People interview, Graham also opened up about not having children and expressed disappointment with the pressure society puts on women to become mothers.
“I do feel like as a woman, culturally, you’re not allowed to say, ‘I didn’t want to have kids.’ Because it’s like, what’s wrong with you? I think as a man it’s like, oh cool, you didn’t want to have kids. Now, women are getting more free to make their own choices,” she remarked.
Graham herself has exercised that same freedom and revealed not having children isn’t a decision she regrets at all. She said:
“I don’t feel that I’m missing anything. If you’re meant to have kids, you have kids. And if you’re not meant to have kids, then the universe gives you someone or something to nurture. … At the moment, not having kids, I do feel free. That is pretty great. And I get a lot of sleep.”
The freedom has allowed her to focus more on her career, she said and added: “I do sometimes feel like my projects are little kids; I have started to get more involved in producing and writing and directing.”
Despite her hectic schedule, Graham said she isn’t averse to taking some time to recuperate.
“I feel like you can be more productive if you have some really good downtime — one day of just absolute being a zombie, laying around. … If you’re relaxed, sometimes you’re doing better work,” she said.
As her bright career continues to steam forward, Graham said she was happy the body of work behind her has taken her so far:
“I’m grateful that I’m in some things that people remember and that I still get to keep working. … I got to support myself doing this, so I am grateful.”
Since she started her career in film and television, Graham has been known to have a beautiful face and an alluring physique. At 53, she is still a head-turner that anyone could recognize even a mile away.
Although women in Hollywood tend to receive pressure from fans and the industry in general, Graham seems unfazed about it. In an interview with New Beauty, she admitted that she enjoys getting older.
“I think, culturally, there is definitely a message out there that keeps telling us, 'Women feel bad about yourself!' It seems like there’s no age where we’re really allowed to feel good about ourselves — except for maybe a very short window. The rest of the time we’re supposed to feel like, 'I’m too young or I’m too old.' For me, I have to unplug from the culture, which is a patriarchal way of looking at things, and to affirm myself and be happy and grateful for what I do have,” she confessed.
As to what keeps “The Hangover” actress looking vibrant and beautiful as ever, she also revealed to The Guardian that her “guiltiest pleasure” is literally a basic thing that most people do.
“I love sleeping. When I tell people how much I sleep sometimes, they are horrified. I basically sleep between nine and 12 hours a night,” she told the publication.
With regards to making her skin look radiant, Graham’s secret is moisturizing her face and body, and she doesn’t need to use expensive brands as she’s settled on only using Body Shop Nourishing Night Cream, and Crème de la Mer, she told Refinery29.
Aside from moisturizing and more sleep, Graham also does daily affirmations, among other things.
“In my personal day-to-day, I do affirmations. I have a good friend who taught me how to, basically, take your deepest fears, flip them, and then you say it’s already happening — or, you can talk about something that you want to have happen,” she told New Beauty.
In the same interview, Graham revealed that she’s happy on the inside as she is on the outside:
“I do all the self-help stuff: I meditate, I do yoga, I work through all the stuff in therapy. I do all the different kinds of sorting through my inner world to make myself feel happy on the inside. And it’s important to me to surround myself with loving people.”
Evidently, taking care of herself has paid off, as can be clearly seen in her beauty and physique. On Instagram, Graham shared a carousel of photos from her Grecian vacation.
“Hot tomato girl summer 🍅🇬🇷❤️🍝,” she captioned her post. In one photo, she could be seen rocking a simple red bikini. Graham also sizzled in a white textured bikini while on the beach, looking as young as ever. She also posted photos of her enjoying the picturesque view of the seas and a picture of her tomato pasta dish.
Fans were clearly blown away by her beauty, as someone said, “You look amazing as always."
Another commented, “Still gorgeous,” and one echoed that she’s “teaching time/age a lesson!”
“How are (you) hotter now than you’ve ever been?! Vampire sorceress! 🔥,” another fan gushed.
