All The Cute Pictures Of Jenna Bush And Henry Hager’s New Baby Boy, Henry Harold ‘Hal’ Hager

Aug 06, 2019

Today Show co-host and daughter of former president George Bush just gave birth to her third child and first son. Henry Harold “Hal” Hager was born on the morning of August 2nd, the same day that she announced her maternity leave on-air. The timing was perfect, as though the mom-to-be knew her little Hal was arriving very soon.

Jenna announced the birth on her Instagram and in an interview with the Today Show, of course.

He was born at 9:02 in the morning and measured 19.29 inches, weighing in at 7 lbs 5 oz. His name Henry comes from his dad while his middle name from Harold Welch, Jenna’s grandfather. Hal joins the family clan which includes daughters Mila, 6, and Poppy, 3.

Grandpa George joked that he was a little mad the baby wasn’t named after him but insisted that Hal “was a cool name.” It was further cemented when Hal’s new sisters nicknamed him “Hal pal.”

It’s obvious Mila and Poppy are already smitten with the little baby. Jenna commented on their first meeting:

"It was so beautiful," Jenna said to the Today Show. "Poppy told him that she loved him and then asked, 'When we can bring him home?' ... They're crazy about him."

All of Jenna’s relatives came out to the hospital to visit the new addition to the family, and brought with them a mother’s favorite helper — Donuts! While Jenna wasn’t sure they were edible so shortly after a C-section, she indulged anyway.

The glowing new mother described the moment of pure happiness she experienced the first time she saw Hal:

"I feel good. I feel happy," she said to the Today Show. "You know, I think when you're holed up in a hospital room with a newborn and you see the joy and the light in his eyes, you realize this is what life is for — to make the world better for our little babes."

Jenna announced her maternity leave on Friday with temporary host Willie Geist who will be replacing her when she takes a break. Her co-host Hoda Kotb is also on maternity leave, by chance. She also appeared on the show to wish her well, as a mom to two girls Haley Joy and Hope Catherine.

We wish Jenna all the best and hope she enjoys her time with her new baby boy and family! Let others know about the big news.
