Coyotes are often able to survive very well in the suburbs because they are extremely adaptable. They are also more capable of attacking small dogs in the neighborhoods, which Trixxie found out the hard way. There also hasn’t been any reported coyote activity in the surrounding area.

However, the owner’s poor little dog was fighting for its life while it went up against a coyote. The little chi-weenie, lovingly called Trixxie, was attacked by a coyote at seven in the morning. The coyote then tried to carry off the little dog.

Trixxie would have been a goner if the local Rottweiler hadn’t been there to save the day.

Likely, Trixxie would have lost her life. Happy, the Rottweiler, is the neighbor’s dog who sensed something wasn’t right when he went out for the morning stroll. Luckily the dog quickly went after the coyote when he saw that his little neighbor was in trouble. When Happy fought off the coyote, Trixxie was able to escape.

Trixxie was incredibly lucky that her friend was there to come to her rescue. Her best friend saved her life!

If you live in an area where coyotes live, it's important to know what to do to protect your dog.

First, you want to make sure you don't leave little dogs outside alone. They are often viewed as prey by coyotes and most little dogs won't have a Rottweiler to come save them. If you see a coyote, make sure you pick up your dog. Then, follow the hazing procedure. Face towards the coyote to scare them off! Don't forget to stay calm!

It's also important to make sure you always have your dog on a leash when you're out for a walk. Sometimes coyotes will try to lure a dog away and you need to keep your dog safe by keeping it on a leash.
