Adorable 12-Year-Old Performs 'Dance Monkey' By Tones And I On AGT

Annie Jones, a 12-year-old from Australia, auditioned on Americas Got Talent (AGT) for the show's most recent season. Her sweet smile and nervous demeanor instantly had the judges falling in love. She was going to sing as her talent, which she has been practicing since she was 7 years old. She wore a sweet yellow jumper with twin matching buns in her hair. Her rosy cheeks were accentuated by her large nervous smile.

Sofia Vergara, one of the judges for America’s Got Talent, invited her to begin. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she began to slowly sing Dance Monkey by Tones and I. Her beautiful voice began to reach the audience who seemed to sit at the edge of their seats.

As the song began to pick up and she hit the first long note the crowd began to cheer, which increased her confidence. Her eyes fluttered opened and she began to dance and move on the stage, showcasing dance moves that Howie Mandel, another judge for this longstanding show, seemed impressed by as he nodded his head in amazement.

The crowd stands and claps along with her as she flawlessly hits all the beats. The judges, including the sometimes hard to please Simon Cowell, were beaming from ear to ear and began to dance as well!

Her family backstage, who also traveled from Australia, supported and cheered her on. When she finished the song, her smile lit up the crowd. Annie had the crowd and the judges standing on their feet clapping and cheering her performance.

The three judges gave positive reviews after the performance and each voted yes for her to continue in the competition. Sofia Vergara offered high praise: “Bravo, Annie. That was so beautiful! That song was amazing. I loved it. I thought you were so confident, and I think this is what you’re meant to do in your life.” Howie Mandel added: “You’re a beautiful little dance monkey! You are amazing. It’s just so stunning watching you, listening to you. You’re a great performer. You sound great. You’re a star. And the world now knows you.” Finally, Simon Cowell was surprisingly pleased: “While you were up there, your confidence was actually quite amazing. That was a great audition. Well done.”

The audiences of Americas Got Talent at Pasadena’s Civic Auditorium get the opportunity to see some real talent most days. This day was no exception as they got to see  Annie Jones flawlessly sing her fellow Australian’s 2019 smash hit. Her talent was truly apparent during her performance, and it's safe to say that the world cannot wait to see where it takes her!
