A Young Nurse Adopts An Abused Baby Only To Have The Caseworker Drop A Bombshell About Infant's Twin
Jun 19, 2018
In March of 2017, an infant was admitted to a hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. The staff of Wolfson Children's Hospital quickly discovered that Delilah was a victim of abuse and neglect.
The child, only fourteen months old, was severely malnourished. She also had a skull fracture and multiple broken bones. The medical staff ruled that the injuries had been caused by "non-accidental trauma."

This child had suffered more than any child ever should. But a disguised angel was ready to rescue her.
A 30-year-old nurse named Jess Hamm was working in the pediatric ICU. She became familiar with Delilah, who was clinging to life even though she was thin and weak. When Jess walked over to Delilah, the baby girl grabbed onto her finger, and Jess felt her heart fill with love.
At that moment, Jess knew what she would do: She had to adopt Delilah and give her the care and love she deserved. She knew that she could provide a safe and nurturing environment.
Jess met with Delilah's caseworkers to discuss the transition from nurse to mom. But when she sat down with the staff and filled the adoption paperwork, Jess was given a startling revelation. It changed everything.
Delilah had a sister. A twin sister. That sister was also desperately in need of Jess' care. All of this happened two years ago, and Jess has been raising both baby girls ever since.
