93-Year-Old Grandma Rants About Disappointment Over Her Failed First Date After 25 Years
Apr 03, 2023
A 93-year-old grandmother unleashed her disappointment on TikTok after she had her first date in 25 years, but it did not turn out to be what she expected. Though she described the guy who asked her out as a handsome man, Lillian Droniak, who has more than 8.7 million followers on the social networking site, ended up dissing her date online.
In February 2023, Lillian uploaded a video on TikTok as she prepared for her first date in a long time. In the clip, which has since garnered more than 63 million views and counting, the grandmother showed her makeup routine and the outfit she chose to wear for her first date. She also explained that she met the guy at a bingo game and that she was feeling quite nervous about going to this dinner.
Despite her nervousness, Lillian confessed that she didn't want to reject the guy when he asked her out because it had been a while since she experienced dating again. Admittedly, she's aware that she's no longer getting any younger, so she said yes to the date.
The 93-year-old might just be the sassiest grandmother on the video-sharing site. A resident of Connecticut, the elderly woman has five grandkids and two great-grandchildren, and she has been on TikTok since 2019.
One of her grandsons, Kevin Droniak, has been helping her out with her TikTok uploads and video recording because Kevin is also a popular content creator. In 2012, Kevin opened "Kevin and Lili" on YouTube, featuring his adventures with his grandmother. The channel has since raked up more than 520,000 subscribers and has made Lillian an internet celebrity.
After her first date in 25 years, Lillian created a follow-up clip where she vented her disappointment. She said her date didn't even make any comments about her dress, and he "didn't even hold the door" for her. She also noticed that the man was rude to the waiter.
"Bottom line, he wasn’t a gentleman, not my type," the grandmother said, reminding her followers that they should "only date a gentleman."
Lillian also said that her date was a bit shorter than her, and she didn't even give him a goodbye kiss. After her videos went viral, Lillian posted more dating tips for her followers.
One of her dating tips is for a woman to leave her wallet at home for the first date because she "deserves a free dinner" if she has to "listen to a man talk about himself." This dating advice received over 3.1 million views.
The grandmother, who celebrated her 93rd birthday on March 18, 2023, also got millions of views on her tips on how to spot the red flags in guys.
"If he doesn't like cats, block him. If he golfs, don't trust him," Lillian said.
In an interview with Good Morning America, the famous elderly woman said that her viral TikTok has made her the "grandmother of the internet,” so she felt compelled to share more dating advice because she has gone through a lot of dating highs and lows. She also confessed that she was once a bashful young woman, but she's "too much trouble" now that she's older.
Lillian also said that she regularly uploads content as interacting with her TikTok followers makes her feel young though she considers all of them as her grandkids.
