Nov 12, 2018
Looking for a way to give your hair a boost in volume? Here are nine different ways you can infuse more volume into your hair.
It is the dream of every girl to have thick, voluminous hair that everyone envies. Unfortunately, most of us are not born with this type of hair. The good news is that you can get a lot more volume into your hair with a few everyday items and tricks.
1. Only brush your hair after it completely dries
If you use a brush when you are drying your hair, you may cause damage to multiple strands. The better option is to use your fingers instead. Lift your hair at the roots, separating the strands as you go. This helps create volume without causing damage.
Once it's dry, you can finish styling your hair with a big round brush to ensure the volume doesn't get flattened.

2. Use a hair clip to double the volume of your ponytail
Start by putting your hair up into a ponytail as you would normally do. Then, separate out the top fourth of the gathered hair. Secure a small hair clip to the underside of this small section. Lower the hair back into place, taking care to cover the clip. The result is a ponytail that is double the volume of the original.
3. Another Way to Give Your Ponytail a Big Boost
Again, start by pulling your hair back into your typical ponytail position and securing it with a covered elastic band. Then, separate the ponytail into two equal halves. Secure one of these with an additional covered elastic band. This widens the final ponytail into a fuller presentation.
4. A Quick No-Fuss Way to Boost Volume
If you are in a hurry, there is a quick way to get additional volume. Divide your damp hair into two sections, then apply a light application of hair spray. Dry each section with a blow-dryer and let them cool. Let your hair loose and see the volume bloom.
5. Dry Shampoo Gives Great Voluminous Results
You don't have to get into the shower to give your hair a volume boost. Separate your hair into smaller strands. Apply a spray of dry shampoo to the roots of each strand. Let the shampoo absorb fully. Use your fingers to backcomb the roots, adding volume as you go. If you want a long-lasting look, use hairspray once you are happy with the volume.
6. Give Your Braids Enhanced Volume
You can double the size of braids by pulling strands loose. Style your braids just as you would normally do, leaving a bit of a tail at the end. Then, starting at the base of the braid start pulling strands out. Fix the final result with some hair spray to prevent it from unraveling.
7. Dry Your Hair After Styling
Once you are done styling your hair, it's time to dry it a second time. Tilt your head forward and dry each strand individually. This will fix the style and increase the volume simultaneously.
8. Part Your Hair to the Side
After showering, use your fingers to find a new part line, then blow dry your hair as usual. The results are a new hair style and more volume.
9. Use Hair Volume Spray
There are days when you don't have time for the complete wash, dry, style routine. That is when you apply spray to the roots, tousle your hair, and do a quick backcomb for voluminous results.
