8-Year-Old Who Opened Lemonade Stand To Raise Money For St. Jude Is Now Cleared Of Cancer
Sep 25, 2019
After eight year old Ellee Large opened up a lemonade stand to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, she won over the hearts and minds of the American public.
For Ellee and her family, the awareness campaign wasn't purely a charity campaign - it was motivated by the deep empathy that her family has for children suffering from cancer all over the world.
According to KFOX TV, Since January of 2017, Ellee has been receiving treatment from St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee after hearing a shocking diagnosis. She had a practically incurable strain of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a type of pernicious cancer that originated in the immune system.

Ellee started her campaign just after receiving her diagnoses when she realized that more needed to be done to help children just like her all around the world.
"One of the ways she dealt with her own battle is by trying to help other kids that she's met because those are her friends and those are our families," Ellee's mother, Shauna Large, expressed tearfully.
For years, her family felt the incredible emotional and financial strain of treating Ellee. Yet the bright, cheerful child made sure to remain as optimistic and goal-driven as ever. It seems that her natural joy even managed to win over the cancer. In early 2019, Ellee's family announced that she had completely beat her condition and was now cancer-free.
After extensive treatment, Ellee and her family have decided to take a much-needed vacation. They are thankful to their supportive community, family, and friends for helping them get through this crisis.
We're glad Elle is now cancer-free! have you ever seen a child do something for charity? Let us know in the comments - and make sue you pass this along to your friends and family!
