5 Easy Ways To Spot A Fake Nice Person
Feb 15, 2018
Sometimes the most toxic people in our life started out as a really nice friend. Weeks, months, and years later you may be noticing strange behavior from your so-called friend.
If you're questioning if that "compliment" was actually genuine or why your friend keeps canceling plans last minute, then you may be the victim of a "fake nice person." Keep reading for a simple guide to spotting the nice friends from the fake ones.
1. They need to be the center of your world.
A fake friend will always expect you to put them first, but they never do the same for you. Their problems are always more severe and serious than yours, but you help them every time because it's in your nature to do so. A good friend will have your back too, and will support you the best they can.

2. They LOVE to gossip.
If your friend is talking about people behind their backs, especially if they're mutual friends of yours, then imagine what they're saying about you. No one needs this kind of negativity in their life, so cut that fake friend out!
3. They are passive-aggressive.
Sometimes without you even realizing it, a fake friend will use passive-aggressiveness to manipulate you and get their way. Sometimes this can come in the form of an insult disguised as a compliment, or snide comments about a dress or person you like followed by a, "but it's your choice."
4. They make themselves seem more important.
A fake friend sees everything as a competition with you. Instead of supporting you, they just try to one-up anything you achieve. It doesn't matter how petty or great the achievement is, this "friend" will just see it as a new score to beat instead of being happy for you.
5. They constantly let you down.
Fake friends will constantly make plans and promises but always let you down. Their words often mean nothing, and if you try asking them about it they just go off on a defensive tirade with verbal attacks. Real friends keep their promises and stick to plans, and don't lose it when you try to approach them about a difficult topic.
Do you think you have fake friends in your life that you need to let go? Hopefully this list will help you realize your toxic friend's true colors! You deserve better.
