14-Year-Old Bought An Old, Run-Down House In Cash And Completely Transformed It Into An Unbelievable Home
Aug 31, 2018
This 14-year-old girl became an entrepreneur and saved up enough money to buy and renovate a house. She appeared on Ellen to tell her story.
Willow Tufano is fourteen-years-old. She first began making money by purchasing and selling items on Craigslist. She followed the old business practice of "buy low, sell high" - she found items on the curb, or at flea markets, and then sold them for a profit.
In the video, she says that she had the most success selling electronics and appliances.

Willow didn't spend her money immediately. Instead, she saved up until she had approximately six thousand dollars. When Florida's housing market plummeted, Willow saw her chance - a three bedroom house, previously listed at $100,000, dropped to $16,000. She haggled the price down to $12,000.
She took the listing, and asked her mom, "do you wanna go halves with me?"
Willow's parents were understandably shocked, but very supportive, and helped her buy the property. Willow then went on to renovate it, upgrading an otherwise dingy home into an amazing piece of property. Once the house was finished, Willow began renting it out for $700 a month. Willow credits her success to her school - she's cyber schooled, meaning her classes fit into her schedule however she pleases. If she sees an amazing deal, she can pause class and buy it, resulting in a very successful business.
