10 Ways To Clean Tartar Stains From Your Teeth

Sep 18, 2018

With so many teeth whiteners and toothpastes out there, it can be hard to choose the right one. Tartar is a type of plaque that feels rough and looks horrible. Over time, it can cause gum disease. The best option is to prevent tartar from happening by brushing, flossing and rinsing your teeth. If you already have tartar on your pearly whites, there are a few home remedies that can get rid of it.

1. Salt and Baking Soda

This is one of the best options because almost everyone has baking soda and salt in their cupboard. Baking soda works to whiten the teeth and kill bacteria. To use this trick, you just have to blend a tablespoon of baking soda and a pinch of salt together. Then, add the mixture to your toothbrush.

Orange peels smell amazing, but they are also useful for your teeth. After you enjoy your fruity snack, keep the peel for your teeth. Citrus fruits are naturally high in acids, which makes them great for removing tartar and plaque stains.

All you have to do is rub the orange peel on your teeth for just two to three minutes. You can also use the peel to make a paste instead. After you have rubbed the peel on your teeth, rinse out your mouth using lukewarm water. You can use this trick multiple times a week.

3. Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is amazing for dissolving plaque. It is also great if you want to have whiter teeth. After you juice a fresh lemon, dip your toothbrush in the juice. Then, brush your teeth like you normally would. When you are done, let the juice remain on your teeth for an entire minute. Then, rinse your mouth.

Lemon juice is extremely acidic, so use it sparingly. If you use lemon juice too often, it can lead to tooth erosion.

4. Sesame Seeds
