Most people over 40 have been going to work, raising their kids, moving upwards, buying better vehicles, cellphones and all things tech not a bit concerned about the protocol of today. The thing is, somewhere your habits and lifestyles have gotten stuck, and the question is How in the world did 30 years go by so fast?

One minute we're shaking the dust off your glitter-covered platforms, your favorite disco shoes, and the next you found yourself planting our roots and starting a family in middle America. All around the world technology was bursting forth, but for some, the news hasn't really hit. It's time for a reality check because even though life in the 90s was great, surprise! It's 2018!

Here are 10 things that framed your life, but now, they are totally unacceptable in 2018:
 

1. Calling someone just to talk. Better have a plan and a purpose or else text.

2. Smoking - Everybody smoked then - inside, outside, in the house and at the restaurants; but not today.
 

3. Stopping by a friend's house anytime to see if their home. Did we even think about this back in the day? Of course not, Come on over, the door is open!
 

4. Pushing people into pools and other bodies of water. Whaaaat? Water is fun! But, a soaked cellphone is not.
 

5. Using AOL as your email server. You know everyone's got it, but it moves at the speed of wet cement, so it's out!

6. Leaving the grid - out of the phone's reach. Remember the days when you simply "drove......"? No more; tell everyone five times.
 

7. Applying for a job in person. Nope, in 2018, start posting your resume.
 

8. Getting directions to someone's house or party. Are you kidding me? Mapquest tells all!
 

9. Being unreachable by phone - You have to answer your phone.
 

10. Actually memorizing friend and family's phone numbers. Not with Cloud and back-up at your fingertips. Mapquest has you covered.
